Time Out – Break Reminders

Apr 12, 2019

Description

Sitting at a computer for hours on end can cause you to lose track of time. Whether your work is attention-grabbing or deadline-driven, you may not take as many breaks as you should. Download the free ‘Time Out – Break Reminders’ app for iOS devices and let the app remind you when it’s time for a healthy break to prevent injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

Overview

Time Out offers a ‘Normal’ break and a ‘Micro’ break, giving you different ways to move and stretch your body. For the purposes of carpal tunnel syndrome prevention, you can remember to stretch your hands and wrists. The app places the power in your hands to configure the breaks for however long you have or want. You can even perform various functions before, during, or after a break.

Breaks

A ‘Normal’ break in Time Out is around 10 minutes for you to stretch those large and small muscle groups. Pay particular attention to your wrists and hands to prevent carpal tunnel. A ‘Micro’ break is a brief pause that occurs for 15 seconds after 15 minutes of work.

Configuration

While Time Out designed these pre-set breaks, you can also configure breaks that you may feel you need. You can modify, add, or delete any breaks you want, ensuring that the technology of Time Out is on your terms. It also includes a count back feature for when you take a break that you would normally take, like when you leave your computer.

Functions

Time Out is an interactive app with tons of additional features available for you to use. This includes running a script or speaking a text. You can also set notifications or perform sounds when engaging in different tasks before, during, or after a break.
